I build systems that let machines see and understand the world, the kind that have to work outdoors, in motion, with no clean lab conditions to fall back on.

Currently shipping computer vision systems for farmsort.one at Schmiede.one in Düsseldorf, Germany. I hold a M.Sc. in Robotic Systems Engineering from RWTH Aachen University.

I am a "Specialized Generalist", deep in computer vision, but comfortable across the whole path a system takes from idea to something running in the real world. I like following a problem all the way through, from the first messy prototype to the version that actually holds up in the field.

What draws me in are situations where the system doesn't get a second chance to get it right. I'd like to keep working toward perception good enough that people can rely on it.

Outside of work, I'm usually out hiking, taking photos, or painting. Different ways of paying attention to the same world I spend my day trying to teach machines to see.
